Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join our finance team. This role is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional with deep expertise in cost accounting—including both job costing and standard cost analysis—and a proven track record of leading process improvements, implementing training programs, and driving profitability enhancements. The Controller will serve as a strategic partner to operations and leadership, bringing financial discipline and actionable insights to support business growth and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
Cost Accounting & Financial Analysis
  • Lead all aspects of cost accounting, including job costing, standard costing, variance analysis, and overhead allocation.
  • Analyze manufacturing and operational data to identify cost drivers, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Maintain and improve costing models to support accurate financial reporting and decision-making.
  • Prepare detailed cost reports and KPIs for management review.
Process Improvement & Systems Implementation
  • Work with Senior Leadership Team to identify, develop, and implement cross-function process improvements to increase organizations results for gross profit, on-time shipments, accuracy, speed, and efficiency in transactions..
  • Lead or support ERP/system upgrades or changes, ensuring accurate cost integration and data integrity.
  • Develop SOPs and best practices to ensure consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Training & Team Development
  • Design and deliver training programs for accounting staff and cross-functional teams to ensure understanding of cost accounting principles and internal processes.
  • Mentor and develop the accounting team to build capabilities and improve overall performance.
Financial Reporting & Strategy
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning with meaningful financial analysis.
  • Partner with leadership to improve profitability through cost control, pricing strategies, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or senior cost accounting role.
  • Strong background in cost accounting, including job costing and standard costing in a manufacturing, or project-based environment.
  • Proven experience leading process improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and lead teams.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
