Cost Accounting & Financial Analysis
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join our finance team. This role is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional with deep expertise in cost accounting—including both job costing and standard cost analysis—and a proven track record of leading process improvements, implementing training programs, and driving profitability enhancements. The Controller will serve as a strategic partner to operations and leadership, bringing financial discipline and actionable insights to support business growth and efficiency.
Cost Accounting & Financial Analysis
- Lead all aspects of cost accounting, including job costing, standard costing, variance analysis, and overhead allocation.
- Analyze manufacturing and operational data to identify cost drivers, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost reduction.
- Maintain and improve costing models to support accurate financial reporting and decision-making.
- Prepare detailed cost reports and KPIs for management review.
- Work with Senior Leadership Team to identify, develop, and implement cross-function process improvements to increase organizations results for gross profit, on-time shipments, accuracy, speed, and efficiency in transactions..
- Lead or support ERP/system upgrades or changes, ensuring accurate cost integration and data integrity.
- Develop SOPs and best practices to ensure consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Design and deliver training programs for accounting staff and cross-functional teams to ensure understanding of cost accounting principles and internal processes.
- Mentor and develop the accounting team to build capabilities and improve overall performance.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning with meaningful financial analysis.
- Partner with leadership to improve profitability through cost control, pricing strategies, and performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or senior cost accounting role.
- Strong background in cost accounting, including job costing and standard costing in a manufacturing, or project-based environment.
- Proven experience leading process improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and lead teams.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience working in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environment.
- Strong business acumen with a results-oriented mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive cross-functional collaboration.
